Children's e-portfolios

So we have been directed to upload 4 samples this year of children's work.  This term it has to be a reading video so parents can view their child reading.  I personally really struggle with the reasoning behind this choice of sample.  I would hope that most of our children do have someone who listens to them every night.
However I can't change the directive so for me to maximise the learning opportunity I have taken a group of 8 children who can log in successfully and quickly for two 10-15min tutorials on the App Explain Everything.  They have now had 8 days using the App intermittently.  At the beginning of the year we did a display where we learnt about taking photographs, selfies, portrait and landscape and even photo bombing.

They have used those skills to take a selfie, photos of the pages within a book and then record their voices.
They have worked on having a story teller voice with expression, take clear and well cropped photographs.

Now I believe I have maximised the learning opportunity, they are starting to be loaded onto our school class webpage and into the children's individual e-portfolio.
