New Beginnings...

Yes, it's again been a while but that's not because I haven't been reflecting.  I've just had a lot of change.

So it's now Week 9 of Term 3, 2016 and I have had my first Term at Endeavour School.  It's been challenging, new relationships, new ways and lots of questioning, mostly internal.

Yesterday I got to hang out with the two teachers in LC3 (Year 2/4 Hub).

These are my findings and thoughts...

Tuesday 15 September

Kate takes 4 Writing workshops, Maria takes Reading Workshops (children have a choice of novel except for her children still at Purple who are her Priority Learners she sees every day)

Kate was taking a writing workshop while other children were silent reading or independent writing

Writing Workshop with 11 children

Modelling Book
Note: Sorry I have to learn how to rotate the photo in Google Drive before importing

Maria was taking a reading workshop
Follow up activity from maria's Workshop

Writers had to go and finish their plans reading for tomorrow’s workshop - could take home or work on at anytime

Food for thought:
Limit the must do’s for a part of a block (for us maybe 9.30-10.00). they have to choose either silent reading or independent writing. We could have silent reading, independent writing and spelling?

9.30 After 30min workshops then they all meet on the steps - helps to refocus, reflect on what they have just done

Blogging Workshop with Kate
Discussed why - why blog

Food for thought: Chrome books for LC3, iPads are great for using Apps for skill based learning and Chrome Books for Creative work through Google.
